Thankful

www.theshabbytearoom.blogspot.com
This is a card that I made for my mother-in-law. She enjoys receiving hand made cards and shows them to her friends at her Rest Home. She has a small bulletin Boardin her room where she displays her "latest art card".
The acorns, leaves, and ribbons were from Michaels. Colored Pearl embellishments were from AC Moore.
The stamp is from Stampin Up's Falling Leaves.
I used Chocolate Chip, Crushed Curry, and Pumpkin Pie card stock from Stampin Up.The ink used was also Cocolate Chip. The Designer paper Was Stampin Up's Autmn Traditions.

Thankful

This card was one that I had planned to send to my son in Iraq. But, my husband and daughter voted NO.

They thought that it was too "frilly" for a soldier and that his unit would tease him about the "girly-man"card.

I made another one for him and sent it to him 2 weeks ago. It should get there this week.

I used leaves and acorn from a floral pick that I bought for 50 cents at AC Moore. The card stock is Stampin Up's Old Olive, Crushed Curry, Elegant Eggplant, and Pumpkin Pie. The designer paper, also Stampin Up,
is Autumn Traditions. The sentiment stamp is from Falling Leaves by Stampin Up.

Chocolate Covered Autumn

http://http//www.theshabbytearoom.blogspot.com/This card was fun to make. I have been doing a lot with my Autumn Traditions paper and thought I'd make a few different style cards using the same paper. This one has a three-dimensional pumpkin that gives it some punch. May have to hand deliver this one or pay $$$ for post office packaging.
I used the following Stampin' Up card stock: Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip and Soft Suede. The designer paper is Autumn Traditions from Stampin'Up. Flower Charm is from Making Memories "Charmed". Pearls are from Queen and Company. Stamp is from Stampin'Up's Grateful Greeings. The ink for stamping and edge burnishing is Chocolate Chip.Leaves are from Wallmart's Clearance Rack in 2009. I "borrowed" the little pumpkin from a bowl with a potpouri mix in a grocery store's bathroom.

Summer Card Challenge #14

I saw this card design in a magazine last year and it reminded me of summers at the beach. I remember trying to get the umbrella up while the wind seemed to have another plan for it. When I positioned it so my little one could sleep or make a castle without getting a sunburn, the umbrella would blow down the beach. Those were mostly good memories though.

I used Stampin'Up cardstock: Whisper White, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, and Chocolate Chipand SU Hawaiian Papaya designer paper for the umbrella. I made the umbrella with 4 squares folded in triangles.
The dunes were made by tearing course sandpaper. ("borrowed" from my husband's collection)
I tore a small cloud shape from white cardstock and laid it on my white card stock and then brushed pale blue pastels off the cloud shape. (discard the cloud shaped template) I used a darker blue pastel to color the ocean background. Used black fine point pen for see gulls.
The tag is a Stampin'Up Modern Label punch. I added bronze brads to hold the tag on.

I plan to use this card to send some photos to a friend that I took of her and her family at Figure Eight Island a few summers ago. We were both much thinner then! ARGH!

The Shabby Tea Room Week #11 Polka Dot Challenge

This was a fun card to make. I LOVE polka dots ! I used the Stampin'Up Polka Dot embossing folder to "dot up" white and pink card stock. I used Chocolate Chip/White Mini Dot paper from Stampin' Up Bella Rose Designer Paper for the background. The ribbon is chocolate/white dot from RibbonFX. The scalloped trim is from Martha Stewart's Collection.
The flower is from Iced Got Flowers 175, scalloped Whisper White, pink tissue paper,
and a tiny pink brad.
For the popped-up notes I used Stampin'Up Friends 24-7 stamps. I used pastel chalks and Stampin'Up Chocolate Chip ink to color them. I used 4 bronze mini brads for each pop up
note.
I plan to send this card to my college roomate from 4 decades ago!

Cipboard Challenge Week 9 Shabby Tea Room

I made a chipboard memory book for my mother-in-law for Mother's Day and used leftover letters and a butterfly for this easel card. Since my husband and I will celebrate our 42nd anniversary on May 31, I thought that making an anniversary card for him would be a
good idea. (If he forgets the anniversary, I bet that after he sees this card he will be guilted into getting me a REALLY nice gift.)

I used 2 chipboard butterflies, and chipboard letters. I used a Stampin' Up butterfly die for
the green vellum 'shadow'. White pearl embellishments keep the card from slipping out of place.
I used the Top Note Stampin' Up die cut for the signature piece. All paper used is from Stampin' Up's Flock Together Designer Paper. The flowers are from KandCo. The branch was cut from Stampin' Up's Chocolate Chip paper.http://theshabbytearoom.blogspot.com/

I used two sheets of glitter paper for the cupcake frostings and border trim background.
The cupcake liners are from a Starbucks decaf latte holder. I used silver shimmer paper
for the caption and several red bling hearts.
It is a simple card with lots of sparkle. I don't know if I will ever send it to anyone. It is
way too "sparkly" for my not so sparkly friends and family :)

I used several stamps, die cuts, and punches to make this spring card.

Light colors, a satin ribbon, and a butterfly embellishment make this

a good card to send a friend or relative to celebrate the most important

Christian holiday.

The Shabby Tea Room Challenge!

I made this card for The Shabby Tea Room's week #1 challenge!

These pictures are of the card I created for this week's challenge.
The rose at the bottom left does not show that it is popped up with dimensionals. I used red cardstock to "shadow" the cut out
rose. I used KandCompany paper, Stampin Up Old Olive, Chocolate Chip,
green pearl embellishments, scallop and oval punches, Stampin up stamp,
cream satin ribbon.
